About 200 marketing companies are exploring ways of using Web3 in their activities. And 70 startups in the digital marketing market this year managed to attract over $600 million in funding.
According to a report by analytical company Safary, the Web3 ecosystem is actively attracting the attention of marketers — more than 200 companies involved in the promotion of various products and services are considering the use of Web3 to expand their services.
The report also notes the increasing number of Web3 agencies that provide consulting and develop growth strategies for blockchain projects. For example, this year, over 70 startups offering digital marketing services have emerged in the Web3 space. They attracted more than $600 million in venture capital funding to develop their projects.
The report states that Web3 is becoming an increasingly attractive environment for marketers, as it offers a wide range of analytical tools to track the growth and effectiveness of interaction with communities.
Some of the most successful digital marketing categories this year include:
- Messaging platforms. Projects such as Salsa, SMTP, Pravica, and Lines allow brands to create decentralized communication networks for their communities. A total of 16 companies of this type could raise about $212 million in venture capital in 2023.
- Loyalty companies. Projects such as TOKI, Intract, Tropee, and Kazm help brands retain customers and increase their numbers through NFT and token-based loyalty programs. A total of 20 companies in this sector managed to raise around $115 million in 2023.
- Quests. Yield Guide Games (YGG), QuestN, and Rabbithole allow marketing companies to create marketplaces by directing users to complete incentivized tasks. This approach provides a more direct interaction between brands and users compared to conventional advertising. A total of 12 quest platforms raised about $100 million in 2023.
- Discovery platforms. Platforms such as DappRadar, DeepDAO, Smoothie, and Trust allow marketers to leverage data collected by aggregators in the Web3 space. Such platforms have the potential to become some of the largest advertising platforms in the Web3 space, especially if they invest in long-term strategies such as search engine optimization. A total of five companies in this sector managed to raise around $13 million in 2023.
According to Chiefmartec, digital marketing has been actively developing since 2010, and 13 years later the total number of marketing companies using the Internet in their processes has reached 11,000. However, the active development of Web3 technologies in the last few years forces marketers to change their approach and introduce innovations. In addition, there are already 18 Web3 agencies in the market that consult and implement growth strategies for blockchain projects.
