Visa and Coinbase entered into an agreement that will allow Visa debit cardholders in the United States and European Union to make instant deposits and withdrawals on the Coinbase cryptocurrency exchange.
Under the new agreement, Coinbase customers will be able to purchase cryptocurrency and withdraw funds to a bank account in real time. The initiative is designed to improve the usability of the service for Coinbase users by minimizing wait times and providing secure money transfers. According to Yanilsa Gonzalez Ore, Head of Visa Direct, North America for Visa, the partnership will enable 24/7 trading capabilities on Coinbase via Visa debit cards.
Akash Shah, Senior Director, Product Management at Coinbase, added that the partnership with the payment giant will allow the cryptocurrency exchange to expand economic freedom by giving customers full control over their assets.
